Default Low-end laser printer

Hello,

I went through hundreds of threads over last couple of days and most people mention OKI printers for heat transfers.

Here's a question though - has anyone used any other inexpensive color laser printer for their heat transfer prints? Please share your experience about using other printers (no more expensive than Oki 3400).

I know that cutting $300 off the printer price in the beginning can be costly in the long run, but maybe there's an affordable option that someone else tried and succeeded.

Best Regards,
Prez

My advice is don't be penny wise and a dollar foolish or words to that effect. when it comes to color laser printer. Go for a name brand that is proven to work. You might a cheaper brand but somehow the manufacturer will get in the consumables just like what is happening to inkjet industry. The printers are practically given away dirt cheap but in the long run you end up paying later.

Luis, you may be right. Actually I'm even thinking of getting a narrower CE5000-40 plotter instead of CE5000-60 and spending the difference on good quality printer. The only drawback would be the necessity of cutting the flex/flock foil roll in half to fit in the plotter (50cm wide rolls while the plotter goes up to 37cm or so in cut width) but should be worth it anyway with superior prints quality...

I own bot CE3000-40 and Craft Robo Pro and both does the job for what I need. I don not see spending anymore. I am sure there are vendors that carries the narrower materials. Check put Imprintables, Specialty Graphics and Hot fix Films
