Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
Coastal offers different brands of transfer paper at different prices. I want the best because I want to avoid complaints of cracking shirts after a few washes and I don't want the shirt to bleed after the first wash. I bought from best blanks before but hear coastal is better. HELP
For light shirts, the paper you seek is Jetprosofstretch... and if you don't mind shopping away from sponsors, then tshirtsupplies.com has an awesome low price for JPSS (jetprosofstretch). Best regards, Kelly.
For darks I use Ironall Dark.... I signed up for New Milford Photos newletter and buy from them when they have a sale. I've never paid full price for Ironall Dark. If it's not sale time, I'd have to shop around... some of the other names of Ironall Dark are:
Jetflex - from Imprintables warehouse
Everlast dark - from Coastal
Translution... (it's in the link I'm giving you)
Look at this thread, it is on this exact topic...
(One of the pitfalls of Ironall and Ironall dark is the suppliers gave Ironall different names they sell it under, the one thing you have to make sure of is that it is truly Ironall under a different name... sometimes, people think they are buying Ironall, and it isn't.. the above names are actually Ironall names.)
In this thread, there is also a link to all the ironall distributors. It's all the information one could want on ironall... good luck to you, hope this helps... Kelly

That is exactly the papers I would choose if you are looking for quality product. jetprosofstretch is a fabulous paper for lights . The color retention is simply amazing. I'm glad that is now my paper of choice. Ironall Dark is the best hands down for dark shirts. I also wanted to say thanks Kelly for posting that link for all the names Ironall is sold under.

You're welcome, Rick... Luis/Infortun has a pretty good handle on the Ironall products... he has a supplier he recommended in the thread, if I need Ironall without a sale, I'll be checking that one out...
PS: Ironall dark is on sale right now at New Milford Photo... everything is on sale 20% off... its called a rebate sale, haha, to go along with the rebates... give them a call or check the website to see if the prices look attractive for the Ironall Dark if you need some...
I noticed that the confusing about Brand Names and sub-Brand Names is still alive.
To find out what is about Trade Marks you can google on legal sites to learn everything about it but let me try to summarize here:
If you for example looking for a shirt from Addidas(TM) and find in a store a shirt which have similarity but is called Mydidas then there are 2 options.
Option 1: the seller of the Mydidas have illegally removed the original Brand Name and selling it under his own or a fictive Name (sub-Brand Name) or;
Option 2: the seller has legal permission from the manufacturer to sell it under a sub-brand name where usually this name e.g. Mydidas is not signed as Trade Market.
You can listen to friends or people you trust and buy the Mydidas knowing that you buy an Addidas(TM) shirt. Simple as that? Yes but still you have to be carefull who points you in what direction. One can easily point you to a product which is not the same as where you are looking for.
The only way to make sure is to listen to people who share their very own experiences with you about the same product which quarantee it is indeed the same. If you are not sure you should go to the source where you can find the shirt signed as the original Addidas(TM)
In our industry (Ink and Transfer Paper) it is the very same thing. If you are confused about a brand name or sub-brand name you should look for the Brands which carried the (TM) mark. This and only this will ensure that you buy the product in always the very same save quality.
Hope this make sense
