Default Complete printer & transfer package?

Hi, I'm totally new to all of this. I will (hopefully) be making t-shirts for my husband's hobby site, and we bought a CLP 300 samsung laser printer, and a machine called "hobby lite 9x12 Heat transfer machine".

The transfer paper the company I bought it from "Hix" gave me some sample paper, but it's really not working out at all. Basic words print out fine, but when I got to press it on a white cotton t-shirt, it's just not getting on to the T-shirt very well.

I think I'll post up some pictures of what I"m talking about, and hopefully someone can help me.

What I'm looking for, is someone to tell me what might be the best laser printer & transfer paper for this machine.
(And what companies you recommend me to buy it from)

OR

The best laser printer & transfer paper & heat press.
(And what company to buy it from)

I just want this for a small scale operation So nothing too crazy in price

SUPER Thank you!

Here's some pics I've taken:

I might be looking at it wrong, but it looks backwards.

I'm sure the paper is meant to go one way.

Could be a heat problem too.

Hi braap

Actually when I printed it out, I didn't 'mirror' it first. But if you look closely, you'll see that it is not getting onto the shirt properly.

The sample paper that the company gave me, said to used the highest heat (400) and the highest pressure, which I did. It still looks like that though.

I'm not sure what I should do.

Wow, to me, this almost looks like a dye sub print on a cotton shirt.

400 degrees seems awful hot to me. In the years I've been doing this, most papers are pressed in the 325 - 350 degree range for 20 seconds.

How long are you applying the heat? IF the instructions with the paper say 60 seconds or so, I'd venture to say you have dye sub paper, as opposed to heat transfer paper.

Good Luck.

Hey Printedproducts,
Um well the instructions say to use the highest heat and pressed for 15 seconds. From what it says in the manual and instructions, it says it's a transfer paper :S

Do you have any suggestions about what laser printer I should use, and transfer paper and if need be buy a new heat press?

I think I need to start fresh
