Okidata C3400n printer... can't reverse image, and paper jams -- HELP!
Hello... I need some help here! I just got my Okidata c3400n printer. When I tried to print on Image Clip the first time, it jammed. I had it set on heavy. The rep from Okidata says it will jam if the fuser is too hot. Since the Image Clip paper is noto very thick, will a medium setting do? Also, I can't seem to get the image reversed. I have Photoshop, and I set the printer preferences to reverse, but it comes out normal. It also printed the image shrunk down into 1/4 of the page until I saved it as a PDF file. Still would not reverse though. HELP!!! Thanks,

Are you using the multi pass tray, fed one sheet at a time with blank side facing up? Medium will not fuse the toner. You can try though. I know even at heavy setting I sometimes have to warm up the fuser by running 5 to 10 blank bond paper before I print on Imageclip. I use ultra heavy and card stock settings without jamming problem. The printer itself will not mirror the image. It does not the same option as inkjet printer. At least mine does not have a reverse option. It has to be done in the application program. What application program are you using? The printer does not reduce the size by itself unless the image is larger than printable area then it will try to fit the image to the printable size. If you are using CorelDraw you can mirror the image in printer dialog box and set the the size of the image to fit within the printable area.
Hope you are not printing on the green paper.

I'm not sure on the 3400, by my 8800 has a scale setting in the printer driver. If you have that, make sure it's set to 100%. That's about the only thing I can think of that would cause the image to scale on the printer but show properly in the OS print preview.
As for reversing, I always just "Flip Horizontal" in photoshop. I duplicate all visible layers, merge those layers then flip the new composite layer. This way, if you need to go back and edit, all of your original work is left intact.

Perfect! I flipped the image in Photoshop, saved it as a PDF file, opened that, and printed ultra heavy in the manual tray. You're a lifesaver again! Thanks so much,

There is a check button in the printer driver under Job Option tab that can be set that will automatically enlarge the image to fit the page. But it is not wise to set that because sometimes the image needs to be just the right size and not to be enlarged.

Hello - I'm just starting to use this printer also - it's not jamming but sort of melting? I'm using the Coastal laser opaque paper and the first sheet is fine, but the next couple are a mess. I'm totally new to laser so I must be doing something wrong - any advice appreciated - thanks.
Re: Okidata C3400n printer... can't reverse image, and paper jams -- HELP!
Hello Di. What paper setting do you have it on? You may need to experiment with different settings. For Image Clip, I use Ultra Heavy, but I do not know what Coastal Opaque Laser should be. If it is not on the instruction sheet, perhaps coastal will have an answer if not someone else in the Forum. Good luck,
Re: Okidata C3400n printer... can't reverse image, and paper jams -- HELP!
I have it on heavy paper, the weird thing is it prints perfect, then messes up. I just got some duracotton yesterday so I'm going to see how it does tonight. I guess with any new process I'm going to have to do some adjusting and hopefully get it right soon!
Re: Okidata C3400n printer... can't reverse image, and paper jams -- HELP!
Are there any other transfer papers out there for the 3400? I haven't used the printer for transfers yet. I've been using my HP multi purpose inkjet with no problems but would like to try the laser.
Re: Okidata C3400n printer... can't reverse image, and paper jams -- HELP!
Im thinking about getting the Okidata C3400n laser print to use it with the WOW7.1 paper transfer also with the Image Clip paper transfer and Duracotton paper transfer.
Has anyone had bad experience with this printer using the Transfers I just mentioned?
Thanks in advance for the help?
