Hey, i just got a quote on a simple image from transfer express on a Plastisol for transfer. I was thinking these was around $1-2 per sheet on avg. But i was quoted $8 a piece and $6 for over 100 prints! I can have the whole tee screened here local with the price of the tee in that. Why pay $8 just for the transfer sheet? Am i missing something?

Yes, number of colors.

A 3 color full size print from your artwork, quantity 100 is $4.09 at Transfer Express.
Could it be that your quantity 100 is comprised of several different designs? Price is going to be based on how many prints of each design...not the total order.
And oh yes...now I see the graphic you posted. Is that the one you got a bid on? That's not really 3 colors...that is many, many shades of gray.
these guys were reviewed by Rodney. They have Freedom transfers (4 color process plastisol transfer hot peel) you order by sheet not color count. I got the biggest and ganged all kinds of stuff on em'...and they rock.
After going round and round with some transfer companies evaluated by this forum, I found Transfer Express to be the best...but...the most expensive by far!!! I think Freedom Transfers is a great idea for you. I also wonder about DigiPrints product by Transfer Express (or is this what the quote was for)...doesn't quite sound like it?
I don't think this is 3 colors. I think it is more and it is probably going to cost you more. Did you ask them qabout the design and how many colors. You have a lot of different shades here.

Are you looking for a plastisol transfer?
Your design is going to need a process color solution as there are more than 3 colors in your design (many shades)
Digi prints from my understanding are not plastisol transfers. They are printed on a Roland Versacamm. Thus, it is more of a traditional heat transfer but the prints are very nice.
Definitely gang as many images onto the largest sheet they offer, this should save on some money.
Lastly, maybe you should consider Direct To Garment printing, unless this is something you want to do yourself in house with a transfer.
Keep looking around, there are a lot of companies that do transfers and you should be able to find one that the price is right for you..

Great transfers from F&M. I use them EXCLUSIVELY. Ask for Christine -- she's great!!!! They just added a new "Fashion Formula" to their current "Sports Formula" inks. The Fashion Formula produces softer transfers with no where near the hand that the original Sports Formula did. Same price either way.
Also, they're phasing out the 12.75x19 sheet on small runs under 512 with their spot-color transfers. HOWEVER, the full color Freedom Transfers are still available in any quantity at the 12.75x19 size.
So, you can get 100 sheets, 12.75x19 for $2.81/sheet = $281.00 plus shipping. I don't know what size your final graphics is. But, for simple math purposes, lets say you can gang 4 to a sheet. 100 sheets will yield 400 transfers. . . . 400 transfers for $281.00 = $.70 per transfer.
I'm no psychic. But, I see nothing but profit in your future! ;-)
I suggest you contact Ace Transfer Company, Inc. and get some samples and a price ist. They are the best in my opinion and I must to a average of 500 transfers a month and they have never gave me a bad product. ...... JB
