Hi Zander,
Choosing an Epson is a good idea. Depending on your volume of printing, Alot would justify bulk ink?CIS (continuous ink system) and lighter volume but still more than a normal family printer uses could call for refillable ink cartridges, also called re-fill carts.
Sometimes the Durabrite ink that comes in the Epson printers like c88 and c120 do experience "color shifting" under the heat press. I use Durabrite without problem, but have seen the posts of frustrated folks getting the shifting. Using a good Heat Transfer Ink is a good idea, it is developed to withstand the high heat of a press.
I always recommend Jetprosofstretch for lights. You can find alot of info on the forum regarding its wonderful qualities. If you are interested in re-fill carts for an epson, look up a thread called "durabrite you're fired", Melissa has found a quality ink.
I gather you are in the UK. There is a regional section of the forum to find other members in your area that could help advise you on suppliers that offer your region good deals, or simply to find suppliers in your area.
I am not sure if you can get yourself a Laser Printer for that money, but I would recommend you investigate that option as well. Deniseg is from the UK and she upgraded from inkjet heat transfer paper to her laser printer and says she will never look back, lol. Some folks use Duracotton or Imageclip. Okidata are some laser printers I've seen recommended.
Good luck to you whatever you choose. Hope this helps.
