Default First Order

I just got a call for my first quote and the company needs 50 t-shirts and some embroidery.

T-shirts - left chest and back.

They really need it to be custom because they have a small symbol they need to use. The text can be one color.

I don't have the printer yet, so I was checking prices from Transfer Express for the custom work. It really is expensive for them to set up their design. I can get the shirts for about $2 each, but the mark up and the custom transfers turned out to be about $15 for shirt total.

I wanted to know if you thought printing these on Iron all dark would make for a good transfer? It would definately make the price more in their range. They need royal blue shirts. I have Ironall dark already in stock. I have been reading folks get shirts for less that $2, but when I get the 5.6 50/50 for qty. 50, the best I can get is $2.

Would you guys go with the digital prints to reduce cost? I know I seem a little dense, but this is my first real quote.

Thanks

I would contact a company and have custom transfers made. These will look and feel like screen print and will not fade like injet transfers. I use Ace Transfer Company for my transfer needs. Good luck. ...... JB

Are you sure about those prices from Transfer Express?

I'm looking at their price list now -- assuming you need a full size design for the back, and a over heart size for the front, one color designs for a quantity 50 are $2.53 and $2.10 respectively.

If what you're saying is that with your mark-up, you would have to charge $15 per shirt, that's not out of line for a shirt that's screened in 2 locations.
