they are all pretty close in price. I kind of like the swingman since it can print on materials up to 1 and 3/4 inches thick.

is a swing away press more hassle than a clamshell?

i am going to be using the press for cut vinyl transfers, maybe some plastisol or heat transfers i order online, and hopefully to cure waterbase screenprinting until I can justify getting a dryer.

I am not sure if the two clamshells would be able to accomodate hooded sweatshirts which I might be interested in working with.

also how much difference is there between a normal press and a digital press? the digital mightypress is a little over $200 more than the regular!

any comments would be great

Heya Mark,

A press with a floating platen shouldn't have any trouble with a hoodie. The upper floating platen is designed for use with items like that. (Just get something to raise the imprint area above the seams/zippers.)

My impression was, if you are working with vinyl, and you have the room for it, the swingman might be nice to give you the room to line up your work without the upper platen in your way and heat on ya.

A press is a press is a press, so I hear again and again, when one is comparing names like the ones you mention. It may come down more to budget, your preference for a swing or clamshell, and what bells and whistles. Good luck to you, and you know I mean it!
