Default Epson C88 INK

I'm looking to buy a Epson C88 for inkjet transfers. What kind of ink works good? The ink that comes with the printer? Should I go with a CIS? Thanks for any help.

the C88+ comes with pigment ink and is okay for most transfers. A bulk system will save you a lot of money if you are doing very many transfers

I bought a refurb C88 which didn't come with ink and I bought a CIS system off Ebay. It turns of that it has been done before here with others and they say to stay away from the buyer I actually bought from (all after the fact for me). The piece of crap set up isn't working. It says the cartridges are empty - red will go on and off if I reset etc. I followed the instructions completely.

I went ahead and ordered OEM epson cartridges. I dont think a CIS is reasonable just yet because of volume. So then I read that the OEM cartridges can cause poor color issues. The seller of the CIS only offers replacement or credit.

I need some straight up direction here. I am seriously asking that somebody please tell me exactly what ink I should be buying. I am frustrated and just want to stop wasting time and money. I am interested in cartridges (straight up or refill) and CIS for later down the road.

Thank you for reading my long winded post and your answers.

Hey, here's a great link on re-fill carts if you would like to go that way. These are the ones I will get when I go that route, Melissa absolutely loves hers. She does a great job laying out the info on price and suppliers.

We spend alot of time researching this issue, I've been there. After watching this progress, I'm convinced she went the right route, so I'm passing on this link to hopefully cut through the muddle and get you where you want to be. Like I said, I haven't gone here yet, but Melissa is great, and you can write to her directly with any Q's. Here you go:
Epson Dura-Brite Inks

Best regards.

PS: refill carts save money for folks who don't print enough to justify the expense of cis. For heavy volume printing, CIS is great, but I hear there can be clogging problems if not printing frequently.
