Is there anyone in the Oakland Ca bay area who has a
HT- 400-D 15x15 and can I see it in action? After having it for several months I learned that the handle is suppose to lock. I didn't know this because the site I found it on didn't mention it.( I had been holding it close becaues if I didn't it would it would open. And according to some of the threads, if I laid dollar bill down and closed it I shouldn't be able to pull it out. So I held the handle) Anyway,later I found this:
"As the press fully closes, you will hear the familiar HT "twang", indicating the press is closed and locked." Then I noticed other things that didn't seem right.
Longer story short, I called the place of purchase, they couldn't help me so they gave me HIX Corp number. I called and one person told I wouldn't hear anything, it just locks, someone else said I would a slight sound if anything like a "
ping", someone else said a "
pop".
Finally I was told to send it in. After all of that, I repeat is there anyone in the Oakland Ca bay area who has this press so I can see it in action?!Because I had other questions that I asked (which I won't bore you with) and I also could not get two people to agree on an answer.
