We are about to begin using heat transfers in place of screening.
We purchased an Epson 120 and will be using Mac computers.

I'm beginning to understand the vector/raster differences. I can understand the advantage to vector graphics for screening but I'm wondering if there is much difference between the two formats when printing transfers. We currently can create nice designs using Photoshop Elements but I'd like to know if any other programs will give significantly better results. Our designs incorporate photos, text,and /or drawings.
The finished design is never larger than 5 x 7.

I my opinion, vectoring is the way to go for transferring. You will avoid any resolution stair-stepping along the edges of the designs(unless of course you use a high res to design with).It is not that big of a deal when dealing with screens, since the mesh of the screen limits how smooth you can get the design.(and what you can hold on the screen)
