Question A little help with quality of heat transfers? What determines the quality?

Hey dudes,

Okay i am slowly learning the ways of t-shirt printing. . . not quite all the way there yet tho (infact im actually yet to print a t-shirt at all)

But what it is is that i think i have made the choice to go the ways of heat pressing!

but what im confused about is the quality of heat pressing

can i ask: -

Does the quality of the t-shirt design depend on the printer you use to print the design?

Or

Is it the quality of the paper you print your design on (not sure of the name of the thing you print on is. . . transfer maybe??)

many thanks

For digital as well as any printing the art comes first. It needs to be created in the size you plan to print and saved as a high res. file(300dpi)...a raster file. Vector art can be created any size as you can manipulate the file without losing resolution. For digital transfers the quality of the paper is the next most important factor (Jet pro soft stretch for digital printers or Image Clip for CLC printers. Ink used to be the heavy concern with digital transfers and durabrite inks were the best from Epson. This may be changing a bit with the new papers but to play it safe stay with pigment inks such as Durabrite.
