Red face Newbie with lots of questions!

Hello Everyone,

first let me start by saying that the people here are AWESOME!! I love all the support that you give one another!

That being said I need some guidance...please!!

I have in mind a heat press t-shirt desing that I would like to create. It would consists of personalized kids t-shirts that would have stick figures representing the child along with their siblings and an arrow pointing to where this sibling fits in (like middle child) with the words me! under the arrow. I guess the best way for me to go about this would be to create for instance 3 girls and 3 boys ranging in height from oldest/tallest to youngest/baby and one up arrow with the word me! under it. that way I can cusomize each shirt.

So my questions are I bought clip art now where do I go to get this heat transfers made up? And Is American Apparel my best bet for kids shirts?

Thanks!!

Go to Ace transfer company or any other plastisol transfer maker. I dont think I would spen d the extra cash for fashion tees for children unless you are marketing to the high end consumer. Kids grow out of clothing so very quickly.

Yes I will need higher quality t-shirts - we have a very competative market where I am and that seems to be the t-shirt that almost everyone uses.

Thanks!!

Clip art: Double check you can use your clip art in products you plan to sell. Some allow, some don't.

American Apparel: This depends completely on your own preference, budget, and target retail price. Ordering samples is a great way to see with your own eyes what shirts you want to 'put your name on.'

If you mean getting heat transfers made as in plastisol heat transfers, here's a thread for you:
a review of 8 different custom plastisol transfer screen printers - samples followup

If you mean you make them at home, you need a printer like epson c88/c120, or any of your choice that uses pigment ink, and a paper like jetprosofstretch (tshirtsupplies.com), and a heat press. But it sounds like your designs lend themselves to plastisol or screen printing. Best of luck in the future, much success.
