Will be making my sweatshirt for the ISS Show this weekend, and have the circular logo seen in my avatar. Let's say it's 3" by 3" and it will have my name underneath -- so let's add another 1.5", making the dimensions 4.5"H x 3"W how do I position this on a sweatshirt?
I've read about 8" down from the shoulder and 4" in from center -- however, should the bottom left corner sit on that plane, or should the design's center sit on that point? I'm confused...
My general rule of thumb is 3-4 fingers down from the bottom of your collar in the front, but it really depends on the size of your graphic. Huge graphics go a little higher, and small graphics go a little lower.
You could try four fingers and see if that works for you. If it doesn't look right, you can move it around a little.
Since you'll be the one wearing this shirt, you could try it on, place your graphic on your shirt at about four fingers, and see if that looks right for you.
For those I usually go about 4-4.5 down from the front of the collar and about 3.5-4 from the center of the shirt. Usually works for me.
Yes, but I'm still a little confused... Once you find that point -- do you put the center of your design on that point, or rather, the left bottom corner of the design there?
It might not work for all people. Seems to work okay for shirts for me, and my cousin loved her shirts with her logo placed 4.5 down and 4.5 to the left.
I came up with my measurements because she's extra-well endowed, and those measurements would go into my armpits and would be way too low.
True... I guess the easiest way to do it is to print on regular paper, position it where I think it looks best, and then tape it to the shirt (removing the shirt carefully, of course!) I will then take a quick measurement, just to have for future reference.
