i was wondering if a heat press would be good to make a t-shirt where each players name is on the t-shirt and there will be lots of text, but also a few pictures here and there. Also, if i did do go with heat press, how would i cut it. I am very new at this.

Yep a heat press would be good. There are tons of people doing that. You can usually order precut letters and numbers. Or if you have a vinyl cutter, you can do your own.
