For about the same amount of money I can get the Hotronix Auto Opening Clamshell 16x16 or the Mighty Press Digital Clamshell 16x20. I am of decent strenght, no issues with my hands or arms. I just can't decide where to put the money. Maybe I should just save the money for CIS and go with a 15x15 digital. Saving around $150. Decisions, decisions. Do I really need 16x20? I don't know why I would use that much space.
I would go with the 16" x 20". The auto-open feature is really nice - like heated seat warmers in a car during the winter. Most heat presses last a long time. So, getting a smaller heat press is probably going to require you to get a larger heat press if you every want to do larger prints (2 XL or names / numbers). Just my opinion. Good luck in your decision.
I have a HIX 16x20 auto opening press and one thing about it is that it's really loud when it opens. Depending upon where you put an auto open, that might matter.
I suggest you get the largest press that you can afford and that will work on your electrical circuits. We only have 15amp shared circuits, so we couldn't have used a 16x20 press, so we bought a 15x15 HIX HT-400D. So far it's worked really well for us, but there have been a few times where it would have been easier if we'd had a 16x20.
