Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
i have an epson photo 2200 and my girlfriend uses a dell aio 962 on her pc. which would be best for printing on transfer paper? i would love to use my epson because of it's large format capabilities and it's on my mac osx system as compared to my girl's dell. so an issue of transfering files and software becomes an issue. thanks for any help.
There have been new developments with new papers and dye inks, but you're still much more likely to get good and consistent results using pigment inks, which your Epson uses.
I prefer the larger format transfers, too. Many people here use 8.5x11 transfers, but I prefer my designs to be a little larger, so 11x17 is a good fit for me.
You should do just fine with your Epson.
Have you tried the new Jet-Pro SofStretch transfer paper for lights? It's an EXCELLENT paper. The best ever produced, in many people's opinion. It's also the paper that convinced me to use inkjet transfers.
JPSS is avialable at Coastal Business Supplies and New Milford Photo. NMP is having a sale on everything today only. They have higher standard prices, but with the promotional code "LEAP", you can get 29% off. Again, that's today only. But check between those two companies.
Coastal gives a 5% discount to all T-Shirt Forums Members every day of the year, along with lower every-day prices.

Gildan, Port and Company, Jerzees. Not big on anvil.

I wouldn't buy a Dell if my life depended on it. Nothing made by Dell. Even if they made the one thing that would keep my life going, i wouldnt buy it... With their quality I'd wind up dead anyways.
For darks, I use Ironall Dark, alot of folks like it. It stretches with the shirt and has great color retention. It is sold at New Milford Photo and is also 29% off today (thank you, Chani, for helping spread the word)
There are other dark papers that are favored by folks, but I love the Ironall Dark. Have a nice night.
I like Gildans of the two. The Anvil was pretty nice, but the tag was weird, it crumpled like a chewing gum wrapper, on both of my test shirts --- which is exactly what I would say to you, buy them, press them, wash them, and pick the one that you would like to represent you. It is amazing to see and feel the quality with your own eyes and hands. Shirts vary alot.
