Default Armur vs. Magic Mix

Can anyone tell me their experience with these two inks? I've searched the forums and am finding a few entries on the Magic Mix, but little discussion on the Armur inks from Best Blanks.

Thanks!
Miki

Hi Miki,

Sounds like you're in the same boat I was in about a month ago! I was looking for a Durabrite alternative, such as Armur, Coastal, Magic Mix, MIS Heat Transfer Ink (inksupply.com), inkjetcarts, inkrepublic, etc. and I just didn't know which to choose! Hopefully you'll get more responses than I did when asking about what inks members were using. I searched this Forum and the Yahoo Boards many times (you can search this forum to find the link to it) and in the end, took an "educated guess" and chose MIS Heat Transfer Ink sold at inksupply.com. To hear my recent experience with it, read the thread, "Durabrite vs. Inksupply.com heat transfer ink -- Durabrite, you're fired!"

Hope other members will share their experiences with the other brands... it's not easy making a choice like this alone. Good luck!

Melissa

Hi Miki,
I have been using Armur Inks from Best Blanks for just about the last year or so, no major issues to report, have done a few tshirts and never had any colour issues, however my problem is now that i have finally received my JetPro SS paper from Coastal my print heads are clogging which I have come to learn is something alot of other persons have had to deal with.

Wow, totally didn't know that they were all the same ink formulation! Thanks for telling me! I actually did not go with Magic Mix because I heard too many people complain about the magenta banding on them. I didn't go with Coastal (even though I really like Coastal) because I didn't hear much feedback about their ink and I was afraid to go with something unknown, ya know? Their price was also on the high side. I've only used the Inksupply MIS HT ink on 3 shirts the other night, but I love it already! The black is super black, and I didn't have ANY yellowing at all (nothing on the backing paper when peeled either) and didn't have a problem with gray turning green after printing! Hallelujah!!

Really? The JPSS paper + Armur ink = clogged heads?

I just ordered this paper and have previously purchased a used Armur system from dawnpoetic. I haven't even had a chance to install the Armur ink yet. My first C88+ has a paper feed problem and the second has the red ink light remaining lit after installing the opened cartridges from the first printer. I've got a third printer still in the box, so I guess I'll try that one and see if I can get one that works. I ordered these from the Epson refurb store... maybe they forgot to refurb these .

Kim at Coastal said I could use the Armur system with their inks if I flushed the system, so I wonder if all these different inks require the bulk feed systems they are sold with or if they are interchangable (if clean of other product.) Anybody know this for sure?

Thank you to everyone sharing their opinions about the inks and bulk systems they are using!!!

Hi Miki,
Sorry for misleading you, what i meant is now that my JPSS paper arrived and i was so anxious to start, my printer started to go beserk. Hope to get it all sorted because i really want to see the quality of the JPSS using the Armur inks.
