Default Transfer papers hates me !!

Hi,
Well this was a (1) promotional T' I was going to give away to someone.
It was a 3 letters word, I printed on Image Clip, pressed it against the green paper at light pressure for 20 seconds, 210 degrees, looked at it after separated, and to me it looked just right, grabbed the t-shirt, pressed it, heavy pressure for 15 seconds, 400 degrees.
Well I peeled hot, and part of the image wouldn't stay on the tee.
The most frustrating thing is that it comes out right 50% of the times I press it, and the other 50% I just got another piece of cloth to wash my car on summer.
I've used it many times before (Image Clip) but every time I will print a tee it is like it have to be my lucky day to have it right.
So, finally I used my GX-24, a small piece of ecofilm, another of easy weed, and the result was just nice.
And when I start using my screen print equipments probably all of these transfer paper are going to make a warm fire in my wood stove.
However I am still curious about Jet-Pro SofStretch .
All in all I am very frustrated with transfer paper, as well as with printing mugs, still have a box with 3 dozen of them, and I just refuse to keep ruining them .
But I am not defeated ...yet.

Just curious, did you use the green paper to press on the shirt? The reason I reason am asking is there few members, that claimed that they could not get good transfer with Imageclip, thatwere pressing the green paper instead of the red paper. There is also a process other than the instructions that came with the paper that I use which works for minimizing polymer transferred on the unprinted area in the red paper. Here it is: Oki C8800n + Hotronix Draw + ImageClip = SWEET!!! - T-Shirt Forums

I've been pressing the red one. And following the same procedure sometimes I got it right. and sometimes it just will partially print on the t-shirt. I'll try to post some pictures of my last failed tee (two nights ago), probably tomorrow.
Thank you for your input.

One of the reasons I could think of why part of the image is not transferring is the area that did not transfer did not have polymer or very little amount on it. You can tell if the image has good polymer coat on it before pressing the paper. The entire image will have matte finish and dull. Any printed area that look glossy does not have enough polymer or none at all.

Another thing is if the color of the image is very light. Very light image has obviously very little amount of toner which will be hard for the polymer to hold on to.

Try increasing the pressure on the first step.

A photo will help to see what the print looks like.

BTW 20 seconds for the first step might be too long. I know some vendors list it that way. I use 10 seconds which is in Coastal Bsiness instruction. I find 20 seocnds tends to cook the polymer on the red sheet and had occassions when the image did not transfer well on the shirt.

Hope this helps.
