Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
I want to buy a Plastisol Heat transfer I want to print my own tee shirts for my company im starting all i want to know is what paper dose it take and how to put my designs from photoshop on to them
Unless you have your own screen print set-up you won't be able to produce your own plastisol transfers. Plastisol is special ink screen printed onto a release paper.
If you do a search you'll find several vendors mentioned that will produce custom plastisol transfers from your artwork.
crap what would you recomend? buy a heat transfer?
Depending on how many you need, I would suggest either buying a plastisol heat transfer from one of the many companies that specialize in that type of printing. You send them your design and they ship you the finished transfers that you can apply.
Re: Help - how do I print my own plastisol transfers?
More along the lines of what the thread title was originally (since that's what I searched for) anyone here make their own transfers?
I ask because we have the opportunity to get our hands on some good screening equipment cheap.
Now we wouldn't want to bust out the ink and screens everyday when orders come in because it would be a nightmare and a mess -- so what I'm thinking is screen them onto transfer paper, store, transfer later.
That way transfers can be made maybe once per week and quickly used when needed. Does this make sense to do? Is it worth it when the numbers come down to it? Anyone have experience/links? I'll continue searching, but figured I'd tack onto this thread.

Hey Idle:
If you haven't done so already, post this in the screenprinting section of the forum. There are some people there that print their own plastisols (or print them for other people). I'm sure they'll be able to answer your questions.
