Just purchase a mighty press 15 * 15 from coastal business supplies,
(shipping was free and fast with a good discount) today was my first time trying it out, I plug it in and let it warm up for 20 mins. I set the time for 8 sec lower the heat press and it would not lock and timer did not go off after 8 sec What I'm I doing wrong? I tried every thing its sat night so I got to wait until monday to call coastal. I hope they do not blame any thing on me or charge me to ship it back. When i first opened the box the heat press flew open and all most hit me in the face i was thinking i had to plug it up for it to stay lock what a moron lol. I hope by buying american made I do not get the short end of the stick. Maybe I should have brought a press of ebay after all.
Hi Earl or Kirk, of course, nothing can replace being there and seeing what your situation is, but you didn't mention if you adjusted the pressure knob. Did you try that and did it have any affect on the situation?

If the unit is not adjusted for pressure with the black knob on top then the buzzer will not go off for the selected time.

The pinkish red stuff, I believe the lubicant. I remember a thread discussing the pressure knob (on whatever press, not necessarily a MP) being difficult to turn and someone recommended a product that works very well for this. Brain ... hurting.... cannot recall. A search should do it. That's all I can add for this post as if it is not the pressure knob, it may be something in the construction of the arm, which is beyond a simple adjustment, maybe. I wonder if Lou will have more info for you. Best of luck. I do hope your USA made product does perform stellar for you once this is corrected.
is it a digital one? I have one of those and its digital.. If so when you set the mode button did you remember to push and get it out of mode set ???
just a thought.. If you dont do that and its a digital one it wont count down and ding?
also try differant pressures with the knob...
a picture mite help if you have one..
the red stuff could be just a bit of excess lube..

Hey, thanks Denise for that reminder on the product. Woooooow, say happy birthday to your Mom, that's awesome, I hope to get so lucky, even though my Mom will be sooooo crabby at that age, I'm sure we'll just laugh at her like we do now! Have a great weekend.
