Default Question about heat pressing with tranfers for black shirts

Since you are pressing the design on the shirts not mirrored as with white shirts

do I need to put anything in between the transfer and the heat press while I press?

Also how can I set the PSI for the pressure on my press? There is a knob..but no way to tell how heavy it will be

If you don't use a sheet of parchment you will have your transfer stuck to your heat press. That's ugly. been there done that. This is with opaque transfers.

For the pressure on your press, you can use the dollar bill test:

Take a dollar bill, and put it in your heat press, with half of the bill sticking out. Close, and lock the press into place. Then try to pull the bill out. The bill should pull out with some resistance. If it slides right out; too little pressure...if it rips; too much pressure.
