You need transfer paper made for dark fabrics(yes there are two kinds). You cant print whit, so its already in the transfer, onto which you print your design and then transfer it.

ImageClip is a light transfer paper, so it will not work on dark shirts unless the colors on the transfer paper are darker than the color of the shirt. Not sure if DuraCotton has a light and dark (or sometimes called opaque) transfer papers. You will want to look at a dark / opaque transfer paper. Unfortunately, you will have a window (the rest of the transfer paper will go down on to the shirt where there is no ink) unless you trim it.

I would not recommend DuracottonHt or Duracotton98 on light garments except white and grey. Some users reported that the transferred image shows a white polymer box after the shirt has been washed.

Here are some opaque that I have tried:

Inronall for dark - very stretchy, thin and softer hand than most opaque. It is meant for inkjet but I have used it with the laser printer. It is safe for low heat dryer. I have wash fastness issue though. The laser print losses some of the color. I may have not pressed it long enough. The inkjet print looked washed out before and after wash. But held up through the wash better than the laser print.

Airwaves Fabric Opaque - made of pressure sensitive 100% polymer fabric. The material is thicker than most opaque. Has hand like Ironall for dark. This is a two step process. I have used this with Imageclip.

Forever Dark - one step process. Color is vivid. Feels like raincoat. Very glossy. Cracks and peels after it has been through low heat dryer setting once. The image below show how badly the opaque is cracked.

There are others I have not tried that are made for laser printer:

Neenah Opaque1 - one step process. Made by the same company that made Imageclip

Transfer technology opaque - one step process

BestBlanks has one a two step process also.

Wow 7.1 - self weeding opaque. Multi step process. Need to get a second mortgage to be able to afford this paper.

There are others that I have not come accross yet.

All the opaque I covered need to be trimmed with a scissor or vinyl cutter except Wow 7.1
