Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
Can i use those to print transfers and if not what would I need to purchase? I am not going to be doing sublimation. Maybe in the future but not now, just basic print and press transfers!
Lastly, If I use this will I only be able to use it for the printing of transfers or go back and forth for my graphic design printing? TIA.
You can use the Epson inks, but you'll have to adjust the colors and brightness. I never was able to get it quite perfect but good enough. I don't do a lot of transfers with my 1800 for that reason. (I use HT inks with another Epson printer.) I reserve the 1800 for when the transfer has to be large format. It prints GREAT photos with the Epson ink. If I had to do a lot of transfers I would switch to HT inks for ease of use.

Sorry, Marissa, I don't mean to hijack your thread but was curious: Moondane -- what heat transfer ink are you using? Just switching to 3rd party ink myself, and because of what I read on this Forum and on the Yahoo Groups, chose inksupply.com's heat transfer ink. Also, are you using a CIS or refillable carts?
I am using prefilled HT cartridges from Inksupply.com with my Epson 320. (I wish they had them for the 1800.) I don't do a lot of transfers, especially large format - if I did I would mostly likely switch to CIS.
Best Regards,
Judy

Hello Marissa,
Most of Epson inks are compatible with transfer printing. As long as they are pigment inks. they would give a better and brighter finish.
