Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
I am starting a small heat transfer business from home. My market is the local youth. I have been purchasing shirts from online companies for several years for a school group and thought I could do this. I need a company that will do 3-4 color custom transfers. I am looking at doing class shirts, club shirts, etc. I have been looking at transferexpress.com, anyone have feedback on them. Yes or No??
Also, would a 15x15 press be large enough to do transfers on size 3xl and larger??
Transfer express, Ace Transfers, First Edition are all good companies for custom transfers. 15x15 press is ok but 16x20 would be better if you are running large amounts of 3xl tees. Really depends on how large a graphic you want to produce.
Good choice with transfer express. They have really fast service and their quality is excellent. If you think their prices are higher than the others it's for a reason. You get what you pay for in quality, service, fast shipping, professional designs, etc.
Also, if you will be reordering the same designs over and over they have a program where it is cheaper.
Also, a 16x20 is your best bet with the press especially if you are pressing a lot of 3xl shirts. Even though it's more expensive you will be using it all the time and you dont want to be frustrated everytime you press larger shirts. It pays off in the end.
I've used Transfer Express several times, and I've been very pleased with their service and product. They are very helpful in advising on what type of ink you need for the specific job, etc. This kind of help is especially important when you're just starting out.
If your budget can handle it, go with the larger press. If not, then maybe you just don't up size the design for the few 3XL you'll be doing. It's a coin toss.
Thanks for all the info!! I think I'll stick with getting the 16x20, the larger shirts are very popular right now with the local youth market. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!!
