Question Coastal Buisiness Everlast Transfer Paper

Hello All,

I recently purchased the Everlast Paper for light colors from Coastal Business Supply. I have found that it works best if you do a hot peel. The transfers were really difficult to peel if allowed to cool completely. I have been using both full cotton and 50% cotton shirts. The transfers look great when I first do them. I let them sit for 3 days before washing them inside out in cold water. I am using a HP Printer with the HP 02 Vivera ink cartridges. I am getting considerable (unaccetable to me) fading. Any thoughts on the fading issue; they come out nice and soft with no peeling.

Never used that paper, but I think a DuraBrite ink (pigment) will last longer, as far as I know Epson C88+/C120 uses that ink.

David, the paper that you are using goes under many names: Everlast, IronAll, MiraCool (?), etc. They're all the same paper, sold under different names. Up until recently that paper was the best out on the market, because it stretches, has very little hand or feel on the shirt, doesn't crack, and is easy to use. However, do a search on the forum under IronAll (the name most often used here), and you will see that it does fade, even when using pigmented inks such as Epson's Durabrite or HP's Vivera ink. That's the only downside to the paper.

However, there is a new paper out called Jet Pro SofStretch also sold by Coastal, which is supposed to be just as soft and stretchy as the IronAll, but is supposed to retain the image and color better after washing. If you look on YouTube, you can find fellow member Badalou's videos of the various papers, and most recently his video on Jet Pro SofStretch. In the video he prints the transfer, presses the transfer, and then does a wash test. In addition, he added on a second wash test of that same transfer, and from what I've seen, it holds up VERY well!

Hope that's helpful...

Melissa
