Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
I just started using my heat press for the first time. (GEO K20S) and though I'm sure it' a great press, their user manual had very minimal info and their website was'nt much better. I am using hot peel transfers from proworld and have followed their instructions though the transfer is'nt peeling entirely. The shirt appears to look fine but you can still see and feel a lot of the ink on the used paper especially the red big time. I don't know if I should increase the seconds, pressure or decrease. Can anybody help?
2nd question sorry: how do you adjust your settings for a lighter weight fabric?
It sounds like you may need more pressure, heat, or time. Can you give the exact method you are useing so we can help you better. As far as adjusting for lighter fabric, the only adjustment you should need to make is putting a little more pressure to make up for the thinner garment. Hope this helps

a lot of heat transfers are hot split and there will be ink left on the paper. You should follow the instructions with pressure. There seems to be alot of threads here about pro world transfers not sticking.
If you are pressing plastisol transfer then having a lot of ink left on the paper is normal since the shirt looked fine. Plastisol transfer is also called hot split. Meaning part of the ink will transfer to the shirt and part will stay in the paper. If it is hard to peel then it is a problem caused by not enough temp assuming that you are peeling the transfer immediately. Your press may not be accurate temp wise. Try increasing your temp setting 5 degrees at a time until you get a good transfer release.
You also need to pre-press the shirt for 2 to 3 seconds.

Try using 400 deg @ 13 secs and medium pressure. Red is a common problem but we seem to get by with these settings. You can also try rubbing the transfer where the red is before peeling. Another forum member has also tried peeling the transfer in such a way that the red section is peeled last. You don't have to peel immediately....but can wait a couple / few seconds (except Puff transfers which need to be peeled immediately).
We do alot of ProWorld transfers and this combination works the best for us regardless of what the instructions say.
Again, one caution is for Puff type transfers which require to be peeled immediately at the recommended temp.
They require a bit more care...

Thank you guys for your advise I increased the temp. to 400 and the time to 13 seconds. I also am rubbing the design first and this is working great. Thanks a million!
