Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
What kind of transfer paper did you use for the heat press? The reason I ask is that there is a discernible background on the image press. It appears to have a slightly blue hue. I'm wondering if the background was not a white background, or perhaps the paper was giving the tint.
This is not a criticism. Different papers will yield different results, especially when temperature and pressure variables come into play. There is usually a slightly noticeable polyester window effect left after heat pressing, which often goes away with washing, but may not, given the paper and conditions under which it was pressed. Some papers will leave more residue than others.
Let us know what paper, what temp., what time, what printer, what ink or toner, etc. The forum members may be able to tweak your results a little more.
I've heard good things about Softstretch and the temp, time, ink seem fine.
My guess is that the polyester residue will leave once washed. I couldn't tell from the pick what color the shirt was, but now it makes more sense. A lt. blue will leave a hued polyester residue appearance. Let us know if appearance changes after first washing. My guess is that the slight residue (most noticeable around the horn and spine area of the creature) will go.
Toni, nice job. what paper did you use. i agree with Alex. I love my mighty press.
