Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
I am very new to this and am considering ordering stock transfers from Pro World Inc. I would like to hear from anyone else who have used Pro World Inc's stock transfers what their experiences have been like in terms of feel, quality and durability. I am in South Africa and need to be certain that i am not going to make a mistake ordering transfers from them. Thank you.
I've used them quite a bit and have been happy with them.
I would recommend using 400 deg F (295 deg C???) at 13 secs though...this seems to work better than what they recommend.

I agree with John, 400 deg F for 13 sec does the trick for me. I use a 15 x 15 Mighty Press with med. to heavy pressure. All the transfers I've used from Pro world have turned out good.

Micki you say you've benn using them for several years...May I ask where you sell your shirts. Also your cutomers must also like the quality of the shirts if you've ben using them for some time now.
I actually started a business about 5 years ago with a partner selling reptile shirts for his reptile business. We ordered about 500pcs for light and dark shirts. There service was great, shipping was fast. The transfers all applied with ease, quality was excellent. The business has dissolved since then, not due to pro world product; the company went in a different direction.
I would definitely use them again! And they have much more to offer today then they did years ago.
I've used them a bit and once in a while have issues with any transfers involving red. The red seems to take a ton more heat than all of the other colors to seperate from the paper. Other than that, everything else is perfect and more than worth their prices.
I have to ditto John and Shawn. Press at 400 for 12-13 seconds for best results. I also had a problem with the red ink, so I learned to disregard their instructions to "peel immediately" -- after opening the press, I rubbed down the transfer with a clean, old t-shirt, and then waited about 5 seconds before peeling. In addition, wherever the red ink was, I started peeling from the OPPOSITE corner, so the red would be the last area peeled, and it worked like a charm!
I have been using Pro World transfers for many years and have had excellent results with them. The staff there are friendly and been very helpful when I had a question. I give them high marks and can recommend them as a good supplier.

Melissa...
Thanks for the tip on red. I've rubbed them also before but seem to do ok now at 400 deg at 13 secs. But, I will keep in mind the idea about peeling the red parts last.....

I do mostly vinyl, but sometimes I need something else. I sell some at a bowlling alley and I like some of the transfers Pro World has relating to bowling. Some are very funny. I put this transfer on the front and the advertisement for the establilshment on the back. Also They have some really nice transfers for Moto Cross and my grandson is a racer, so that works out well also. We put the name and number on the back and a really cool Moto Cross transfer on the front. Kids love them.
Since they offer a one-stop shop, it saves a lot of money than having accounts at all the different vendors and dealing with seperate minimum orders.
The 10 pound catalog was great at first, until I found out that a lot of the designs are subject to being discontinued.
They do not tell you which manufacturer (on the website) each design is by. The XIT designs with red can be trouble.
I suggest testing each design before buying a whole bunch of them. I did not like a lot of the ones I got. Opaques especially. As I had problems transferring them.
If you are shipping to Africa, that is a long way for heat sensitive material to travel--in my opinion. Some of the boxes look like they were mangled when I get them here in the states!
