Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
When I purchaed my press I also bought "Forever Paper" by Digital Transfer Application Technology. The paper is labeled Ink Jet Dark. I printed my copy with my HP 1210 ink jet, however I can't seem to transfer it . Transfers I have created for light colors works fine. Thanks for your help, Sunshin Mountain

we need more info to help you.. One problem is HP..
What additional info can I supply? Sunshine Mountain
what I was asking is did you use the same paper for lights and darks? Was the paper marked on the side you don't print? what press are you using? hat instructions came for Time, temp and pressure.. that kind of stuff.
I have a programable16x20 Hottronix, temp is 385, time is 15 seconds, pressure is high . There was no instructions with the paper. I use a different paper for lights. I have used both sides of the paper and found no difference. There is absolutly no transfer taking place. I did try my light paper and and you can see the outline of the design on the black shirt. Any help would be appreciated. Bob

I found the webbsite for the manufacture and sent an E-mail. This is two part paper and almost looks like it should peel apart, but I havn't been able to do it
Opaque paper is different than for lights. You have to peel off the tranfer image (yes the paper peels apart) you then need to lay the image face up, cover with parchment paper or teflon sheet and press it down. It's not always easy to peel the paper apart. Try to tear the back a little which is the paper part.

Yep, you have to peel it apart. You print the transfer like normal paper, no reversing the image. Then you have to peel the backing off. Sometimes I use an exacto and can get in ther to separate the papers. I think Lou has a method where you tear the corner (it will tear the paper not the film that it is printed on)
