Post New idea

Hey all, I started learning about t shirts when I had the idea to sell shirts for the purhase of shoes for children in need...now it's gotten to be more intensive than just that as I've gotten a little excited about all the possibilities of business and customization and everything that entails.

Of course, heat transfers seem to be the easiest/cheapest way to start...so that's where I am...I got a 12x12 press that was ok at first...then I sold it and now have a 15x15 and a new c88+ epson. I'm looking fwd to getting some of the ironall papers from new milford so I can see the quality difference between those and what I've been using...I'm sure it'll be drastic! I looked into dye sublimation, making my own plastisol transfers, screen printing...and I just hope that I will be happy with the ironall transfers because I have several promotional orders for business shirts on hold right now until I get some quality results. I don't have the setup for screen printing, sublimation won't work on darks, plastisol transfers is basically screen printing...

Anyway, my wife and I are brainstorming on who to make a product line...from our office (3rd bedroom)...and the DTG printers look like an excellent fit as far as results and color flexibilty. There's a lot out there...do many of you use several methods of printing or do you stick to one way of doing it?

We will continue selling "shirts for shoes"...but will expand into promotional sales and possibly a little retail (friends w/stores). We picked a logo out which is a hand print and are using a slightly alternative name: 5 Phingr

I'll get the logo online as soon as I get adobe illustrator, I made in paint right now so it's only a bitmap image.

Thanks for listening and for any input!

Tom

David, have you conducted wash tests on the SofStretch yet? I know Lou put them through a few washes and they still held up pretty well. I haven't tried it yet, but I am anxious to.
