Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
Hey, Im having huge difficulties deciding what brand of heat press to purchase. I have read most of the posts on the forums but i still cannot find a press available in Australia that is good quality and under $2000.
I contacted Coastal Business and it would only cost $1190 for a 15 x 15 Mighty Press from America.
The only other options i have is a 15 x 15 Heatmaster (which i have no heard of) for $1100
or a HIX Swingman 15 for $1600.
Has anybody purchased a Heatmaster or a Perfecta and been satisfied with their press.
Australians trying to enter the t shirt business, do we have any hope?
Just to dig up an old post, but im having some dramas finding a heat press myself.
Ive been offered Perfecta 15 Heat press 50 sheets of transfer paper and 2 teflon sheets for AU$800.
Can anyone tell me if this is a decent press? or if I should save my cash and look elsewhere?
I love my 15 x 15 mighty press from Coastal. it gets the job done for me and has for the last 2 years. Check out my videos if you want to see it in action.

Hi Joel,
I'm on the same boat! I have been researching on which heat press I'm gonna get. I've got 2 in mind the HIX 400 or a Hotronix. I have heard good things with the Mighty Press but don't know much detail about em'. Let us know which press you end up getting and where from.
I was also thinking of getting one from the states but am unsure if the socket supplied will suit our one down here. Have you heard of any news regarding this? Also if it's coming from the U.S. aren't they on a 110v?

Most US presses are stocked in 110v but can be special requested in 220v (probably with a turn time). If you are looking for the Stahls presses in your area I would check with Stahls Pacific: Stahls' Pacific - Heat Presses
Not sure if they offer the Mighty press or somehting comparable, but the Mighty Press is a Stahls Hotronix manufactured press.
I received a Heat Press tip at the Charlotte NC Printwear show yesterday.
It was suggested to check exactly how the auto-open presses work as it relates to the desire to open it before the preset time has come.
One user of a Geo Knight press at the seminar said that was one big issue with the model he used. He found himself "cooking" a few tees when he could not open it manually after it was programmed to open later than desired. I can easily see this happening where this need to open unexpectedly presents itself.
Can any other auto-open press user attest to this being an issue with your model?

Josh, can you speak to this with your experience?
AB
I could see how that would be an issue. I actually didn't even realize that there were auto open presses that you couldn't manually open. Was it the Geo Knight press that you couldn't override?

Hey Josh!
The gentleman at a booth showcasing the Chromablast product yesterday was using this Geo Knight press below and said once it's down, it's down (locked) and it could not be lifted. I just wonder if they all are designed not to be opened manually until the preset time has come after being closed?
As the owner of a Knight dk20 with auto pop-up, i can attest it CAN be opened after locked in the middle of time. I do it all the time.
Granted Im 6-2 300lbs, and it does take a quick jerk, and from what the manufacturer says it doesnt hurt the press at all.
But to say it cant be opened is not true.
I will say that I just bought a second press this week, a might press digital large, and the ease of that press compared to the knight is "knight" and day. The mighty is alot easier and does not take the muscle or height reach to crank down like the knight. But i do still like the pop up on the knight better.
If anyone wants, I will try and take a quick video of it being opened after lock this week, so people can judge if this is something they want to do.
