Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
I'm looking for transfer paper that has yielded the best results in the UK. If any people in the US or anywhere else know of a vendor that will ship to the U.k and has a quality product please let us know. Also possibly a paper that can go through a vinyl cutting to get the best results...
Please any experinced users opinions required
Many advance jumps and thanks

Hi, have you looked at WOW from themagictouch, it's a system that uses a laser printer but does not need cutting/weeding. Do a search on here because it has been mentioned and there are pics of samples. Contact them and ask for a sample ( which comes on a t-shirt ). They are currently running a roadshow around the UK demonstrating to customers, i think they are still in Scotland working south at the moment. They havn't reached me yet.
You could also think of a printer/cutter ( versacamm ) that prints onto vinyl which it then contour cuts, then heatpress. Have a look at targettransfers site, These are expensive but good.
Look at xpres if you havn't already.

Lee I have looked at target but never knew they stock printer cutters. I spoke with the MC guys just a day or so ago but for £2.50 a transfer it seems quite steep. I'm really looking for something that can make the tees price reasonable for people (price wise, I'm thiking of designs that have images on front and back). I'm really intrested in a versa camm but the price bracket for them here is quite much at the mo. I'm sure I will get one but a little later down the lane....
Thanks loads guys

The versa camm is expensive but i think you can lease/rent them if that's any better for you. Try xpres ( they lease their engraving machine but not sure on cutters ) or graphityp they might lease.
Other than that contact some sign shops and see if they have one that they can print onto garment vinyl for you, might be cheaper as you can supply the artwork and they will just print and cut.
The transfers are expensive in small numbers from target etc but if they are good quality you may be able to get a bit more for them and they are very easy to apply so not much work involved.
