Default Newbie - plastisol transfer question

Hey All,

Just purchased an old National heat press from a friend. I did a couple of shirts with some sample transfers I received from First Edition. I tried both the hot split and the double print hot split and the images transfered perfect. The only problem I had was that there was a discoloration (yellowish) on the shirt afterward. My best assumtion is that it was scorched. Any suggestions and insight would be much appreciated. Thanks

The instructions from First Edition stated for hot split: 375 @ 15 seconds and for the double print 360-365 @ 8-10 seconds. I followed this exactly, I think maybe I have a bad thermostat seeing that the machine is a dinosaur. Could that be the cause?

may be.

sometimes cheap shirts with un-even dye-layer, the dye burns off and the cotton color appears. It looks like beige stains.

did you wipe off the old dust ?

just test it out with less time, without printing anything, to see if you still get the scortch.
