Default Two-Part Question About Cap Presses

Please excuse my ignorance, but I'm new to all this and have two questions that I can't seem to find answers to. I'm about to buy a Geo Knight DK20S flat press. While I'm making the investment, I thought I'd go ahead and pick up the Geo Knight DK7 Cap Press to expand my horizons; for caps, sun visors, thongs, boxer shorts, pocket designs, and to add designs to sleeves. My questions:

1) The DK7 comes with a 4 x 7 cap form. Will this size fit most of my needs? Supposedly this press has "interchangeable" cap forms, but I can't seem to find anybody that carries them.

2) Is a Teflon cover sheet needed for a cap press? Is so, where do you get one that small? Or could I just buy a bigger sheet and cut it down to size?

Any help here would be greatly appreciated!

Default Re: Two-Part Question About Cap Presses

hi drew i just bought a DK-7T a few months back for a large job of hats - the first i'd done. it was a mixed job with trucker style hats and low profiles - what i found was that the standard form works great for the trucker style hats - not so much for the low profiles i just called knight and aaron sold me the smaller forms i needed.

i didn't seem to need a teflon sheet for the hats i did - but if it comes up in the future, i'll just cut one to fit from a larger sheet - that's what i did for my mug press!

Drew, yes as jberte said you will need the different size attachments for different hats. I soon found out with mine after I bought it that you need the different sizes or your hats will come out really funky looking in a bad way.
Good Luck!

Thank You for the input! I ordered the DK-7 yesterday from Coastal, then went to George Knight online and ordered the additional two cap forms. I am SO psyched!

I'll keep you posted....
