Sorry to ask the ever popular printer/ink questions again. I just did a search and found some interesting answers, but seeings how they were almost 2 years old, I am wondering if they are still accurate.
I am not new at this, but an electrical strike blew up my studio, including my Epson PhotoEX

, AND my Epson 3000 full of Magic Mix inks. I can't get that Epson 3000 to print again, although it starts etc... but.. I think I have to give up on that.
I want to heat press transfers again -- and i read here:
 | Quote: | | | | | | | | | | | I'm pricing and researching Epson printers. The Epson 1280 uses dye inks. I think people like this printer because it is wide format (larger images) and can be used with TLM Supply House's pigment ink called Magic Mix | | | | | |
.
and am wondering if this is the latest up to date suggestion for me... I WANT a wider format printer -- even the 17" like the PhotoEX is sufficient. What I need to know is a printer that fits the wider profile (several suggestions would be great), and whether the inks that COME WITH IT are not only acceptable but GOOD for printing transfers, OR should I go with Magic Mix inks again, and what is it exactly about MM inks that are better than say, the dye based inks you all talk about?
Thank you in advance - anyone who can help me! I am currently unemployed and trying to get my t-shirt business up and running again in hopes to make some $ for the holidays (and beyond).
So: Wider format printer suggestions: (either new or used like on ebay)
and ones w/ good inks, (not overly expensive) VS ones that could take MM inks.
Thank you so much!!!
