Smile whats the diffrence between sublimation and vinyl transfers?

hi everyone

i was hoping someone will help me. i would like to understand the diffrence between sublimation and vinyl transfers? im used to working with silk printing but now that the requirments have changed and im doing more of a one design print its to expensive. the heat press i did came out heavy and hard on the shirt.im looking for a procces that will be as similar as it can to screen print. that will be soft and blending with the fabric.. also if there is papers that r recommended that will maybe do the work???

thank you all

Similarities: both are decoration methods that are applied with a heat press
Differences: everything else

They're pretty much completely and utterly different. Try reading some of the previously posted threads in the forums and you'll learn a lot more about how both work.

sublimation will only work on polyester material...white/ash with some pastels available from vaporapparel.com. In short with special ink/paper/printer the transfer is actually bonded to the fabric...and cannot feel it.

Heat press vinyl is just pasted on top of the material. A lot of the vinyl is very thin... such as thermoflex plus and is not heavy but it can be felt.

Vinyl requires a cutter...sublimation a printer...usually an Epson...you may want to look at DTG systems
