Exclamation Distressing/Transparent Art on Plastisol

Ok Team,

Big urgent issue just sprang my way. We are trying to fulfill a big request. Customer wants an image that is distressed and someparts tarnsparent (some of the shirt peeks through parts of the art.) We have sent files over to F&M, but they are telling us they can not do it...does anyone out there have any suggestions?

im actually in correspondance right now with F&M trying to fulfill a very similar order, what a coincidence!

i've sent over my artwork and spoken to Phil at F&M and have been told that the distressed look cant really be achieved with this type of transfer, so im now at a loss really as i'm trying to achieve this look with a lot of my artwork..

would be very interested in any help offered in regards to this.

the only way I can see this effect being used with transfers would be plasticol transfers. yet with the way they are made I can see how issues may arise.

Why not contract out that to a local screen printer. 2 color print shouldn't cost too much if you supply the art, films and shirts

Another option would be to match the shirt color and add a 3rd color to the art to mimic the shirt/distressed look. This will not be exact yet may work for the transfer method

to achieve that look (here and there transparent), would it have something to do with how the screens are made with a combination of inks/process?

there is no self promotion her on the forums.

I could yet it may be in your best interest to find a local screen printer. Where are you located. Im sure we can find a quality printer in your area

Is it practical to try a distress like this with transfers? (my sample actually looks crappy but you'll get the idea)

Transfer Express has some distressed designs in their idea book, so it seems reasonable that they might be able to do a custom design in a distressed look.

Also, several people on this board use Ace Transfer...you might check with them.

Another option would be to sub it out to a printer who does DTG.
