I have the Armur Ink bulk ink system from bestblanks.com and am using it on an Epson 1280.
It has been great up until recently when the black all of a sudden wouldn't print.
I have done everything I can think of. I've done the ol' clean the printhead routine dozens of times, checked the tubes to make sure there are no pinches, made sure the bulk system was full and also used the syringe that came with the system to prime the black.
But nothing works, when I check the nozzle pattern, I get nothing on the black.
Any ideas?

Mike ~ Did you resolve the issue?

I'm using MagicMix ink and a CIS on a 1280 and I have the same problem from time to time.

You don't want to do continuous head cleanings or you'll destroy the print heads. Instead, do one head cleaning and print a page of black bars. Wait 30 minutes and repeat process. This will help move out any air bubbles – if that's the issue.

That normally works for me, but one time it didn't. I took the ink cartridges out and flipped them over for a few minutes and when I put it back in place it started working fine! I think there was a tiny piece of plastic covering the nozzle or something.

1280's are somewhat notorious for printhead clogging, especially with dye sub inks. If you want to check this out go to DSSI forum. Various posters there have recommended different ways to clean printheads.
