Question Printing Costs - how long my CIS bulk system will last?

I am starting a business using a student loan, Hopefully in the T-Shirt industry. To get the loan, I need a business forecast. But, It I need some sort of monthly figure, income, and expenses etc. To get this figure I need to know how long my CIS bulk system will last. So I was hoping to find a way I could get my printing costs, is there a calculator, or a formula? I will probably be using the Epson 1280 with 4oz containers. Let me know, Thanks, Collin.

Default Re: Printing Costs - how long my CIS bulk system will last?

Hey Collin. Your question is impossible to answer exactly. It all depends on how many sheets are printed per year and how much of the paper is covered with ink. To get a ball park figure, get the number of prints per cartridge of the printer with oem inks. Then multiply that number by the number of times your 4 ounces of ink would have filled them up(Probably about 8-10 times). Then multiply the original print numbers with the refill number and divide that number by cost of ink to get a per print estimate. I would think the CIS would last several years. It would look something like original cartridge black prints 520 pages, times 8 refills is 4160 sheets at a cost of $130 for ink is $0.03. That estimate would probably be for a small coverage per page, maybe 5% with black, like a letter. Full color pages would cost more. You would have to estimate how long you would use the CIS and prorate the cost of the system out with the ink cost over time. It is just an estimation. To get real numbers, your would have to print the type of page you intend to use most until the ink is empty and then run the numbers to get your cost. Hope this helps.
