I am a little confuse right now. I wonder is it possible to print a image and then heat press it right away to the t-shirt without having to cut anything ??

for example, if i have a graphic like the one in the attach thumbnail that have a lot of small region with no ink and i want to heat press it to a shirt ? Do i have to cut every little region ?? Is there a papper that only transfer the ink ??

I need help on this !! Thansk you in advance guys. SOrry if I made some mistakes, i usually write in french !!

Thank you all again for helping me out !!

This design should only be done with screen print or plastisol transfers or apparel vinyl. If it was dark it could be placed on white shirt with Iron All Type transfer.

Question about this...If you were going to go through the trouble of making a transfer with a screen...why wouldn't you just screen it directly to the shirt? Seems like that would eliminate a few steps. Just a question, I really don't know much about this...

If you sell dark shirts, it is less expensive to stock some printed transfer sheets than printed shirts. Also, if you print on-site at shows and want to offer dark shirts, it would be almost impossible to actually print the shirt. Easier to print the transfers at the shop then press the transfers on location.

Thats excatly what a want to do. I want to have some stock of printed transfer because im not not sure how many shirts im going to sell. In fact, Im not selling anything. I want a store to sell my shirt by the piece. that is the concept : The customer enter the store, choose a graphics design that is in a binder and then choose the shirt model-size-color and get it print right in front of him/her at the store. Im only supplying the equipement for the store and the designs and the press of course. Im looking for a way to have some complicated graphic like the one in my first post printed the easiest way and to have multiple copys of printed transfer sheet ready to print for the store . There must be a way to do that !!?? Ideas someone ??

Yeah...they are called custom plastisol transfers. There are tons of threads on the forum about just such a thing. There are also tons of stock transfers available in your type of art example.

That looks like a one color graphic, so it's really not that complicated. You can either screen print the transfers yourself or hire them out. Either way , you can print 5 or 500. If you sub it out, the more you order of one design, the less the price. You'll need to supply screen ready vector art.

You can also do as David suggests and just buy stock transfers. There are tons of designs out there fitting the skull and crossbones style, but then you're offering the same thing every other t-shirt shop sells. I can go into the 5+ T-shirt shops down at the beach and see the same designs over and over. Personally, I have no desire to sell the same product 5 other shops in my area are selling.

Custom made plastisol transfers. You supply the design and they print the transfer according to your needs, qauntity, size etc.

Yes, with plastisol transfers your design style will workout fine.

Places like firstedition will do small quantities something like 15...MF i think its 8 minimum etc...

Others have higher volumes like 100 sheets.

Just prepare yourself when contacting them, have design sizes, colors/pantone codes, gang sheet layouts, vector art files, what feel you need, what fabrics you will be printing on etc.

This info will make it a smooth in-out job, without it the error factor increases and more time in pre-production.

nice art by the way.
