Default need help putting a good heat press equipment package together

First of all let me say thanks to the peolple who have been answering my questions. tis site is the S@&* i love it i found so much info here. Ok let get started here's were im at.
my plan was to start a screen printing buisness like most. but by doing research it looks like i may want to go another route meanning Heat transfers or both. i did not know you could do so much with transfers.my company will most likely be doing sports little leagues and churches (got 2 so far) thats my starting point but i see myself doing everything that is possible. but my skills with screen printing are not that good and i just cant picture myself getting good quality right now. and it seems with heat tranfers once you get a handle of the temp, pressure and transfers you can atleast offer some good quality prints. so what im thinking get both that way i have access to long runs if i get some and access to short runs. which im still trying to figure out what is a short run 12,24,36... i have been up for days reading what i can from this site and trying to come up with a decision myself but some help is needed. of course i cannot afford to get top of the line products for both but i was thinking the setup that babalou has i think that;s the name right. or if anyone here could help me put a good package together. babalou's was like 3grand maybe more i have the money for that but trying to save a little for everything that im not accounting for which is probably alot. i am bidding on a small 4 color press on e-bay right now which i will win, i enjoy screen printing and think once my skills get on point i will be able to offer coutomers some good stuff. am i bombarding myself with to much.

can i get better transfer stuff if i pieace everything from different companys or just go with a package deal.

Im going crazy here guys.

I think that's for everyone to find out themselves. I mean, my local supplier isn't your local supplier, and prices are different everywhere. Just call as many as you can and find out about their prices, and see where you can save some money! Don't forget to calculate in several shipping rates when you're ordering from different companies.

Take a look at this site: F&M Expressions - HOME I just found this company, have placed 2 orders with them and I am so pleased! I'm not sure yet about the full color stuff - I need to do some more testing with that, but the spot colors were great and extremely reasonable. I actually found the quality to be better than awell known screen printed transfer company (don't want to bash anyone).

I do DTG printing, cut vinyl and embroidery in-house, so I have to outsource the screen printing. Because of the quality and reasonable price, I will probably start using FM for some of the larger jobs that I would have normally digitally printed.

I do have one word of advice - if you are going to use a heat press, invest in a good one. I spent $550 on 15x15 heat press that literally fell apart in a less than a year and never did work great. The local manufacturer I purchased it from does not return phone calls and I never did get it fixed under the 1 year warranty.

I purchased the Phoenix (the larger one), which is really a stahls unit I believe. The auto-release (does not need a compressor) is heaven. It has made a huge difference in my business.

Unfortunately I thought the heat press would be the least important purchase I made, especially after investing > $20k on a DTG printer, but I was wrong.

Good Luck to you!
