Default Time/Temp for Magic Mix & TJ paper

I have been using this combination for quite some time..but am having a problem with the transfer of solid black areas. I suspect that the black ink absorbs more heat than other colors and that might be affecting the transfer ( black not fully transferring/coming off with paper. SO do I increase the time?
Reduce the heat? or decrease the time?
I am pressing this combination at 375* for 16 secs.... and prepressing to reduce moisture atleast twice.
Would like to hear what time/temp others have success with.
Any help appreciated.
THX, LEO

Hi Leo, I pre-pess mine once for about 4 to 6 seconds, then press the transfer at 370° for 12 to 14 seconds and peel hot with no problems. Using Magic Mix inks and Magic Jet (Transjet ll) paper. Yesterday I tried pressing for 10 seconds just to test and it did fine there too. I pressed 105 shirts yesterday and they all came out great.

How old is the paper and are you rolling your shirt with a lint roller BEFORE pre-pressing? A lot of the shirts have lint that can't be seen with the naked eye and won't come off when "snapping" the shirt. This will leave voids in the image too.

God Bless You
Don

I had the same problem. I found that 12 seconds at 400º worked the best – although I still couldn't get consistent results.
