Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
Really hoping someone can help out here. My 1400 with bulk Artanium is telling me that the light magenta is dangerously low and the other inks are about half full. Problem is that the bulk bags are not empty and the ink cartridges are full. I removed the cartridges and reinstalled, done a cleaning...and the driver still tells me that light magenta is almost out.
I'm doing a show and I'm afraid that if the driver eventually thinks that the light magenta is OUT, it will stop printing. That will shut me down on my busiest day. Is there a way I can tell the driver..."Hey, there really is ink. Take another look."
I just happen to have a chip re-setter tool. It weighs about 2 pounds and has a ball peen on one end. It ended up fixing itself. The light magenta read empty on the driver gauge. When I hit print, the printer made all sorts of funny noises, then the gauges read full and it printed. I think I'm in good shape.
Maybe I scared it into submission with the 2lb chip resetter tool. I have a 4lb version also...just in case.
As I use a cis system in my epson c88+ a lot of times the ink will run low in the cartridge and then it will tell me it is low. the it gets a little further down and will automatically refill. I have a 5 pound chip resetter. I think my resetter is bigger then yours.

ross...I have the same setup...about 2 weeks after I started using it I got eh same message on cyan and the monitor showed less than half...I sort of hit the panic button..called LRI...and was told that would happen on occasion and not to worry...sure enough about 3 days later the monitor showed the cyan full...so I suspect that is the same with you magenta..
Here is an article i had run into... it may not treat your issue directly but I think it is related in the sense that it mentions that the chip is not being updated accurately under a heavy printing scenario... and indeed the message disappears on its own basically... no tool needed. Thus to scare it into submission... may simply translate into giving it a chance to settle... catch up... meaning the sensoring system in those printers is coarse.
..and I should mention that having people like Charles who can relate it to real experience is priceless!
It dawned on me that you may have the type cartridges that automatically reset when you turn the printer on and off... Epson cartridges don't. Just a thought.
Wierd, this mesage only showed the first word (it) until i deleted the space after it and saved it again.

Thanks guys. I burned through some Artanium today. I had people lined up from 4PM - 9PM. I just finished todays last job to be picked up in the morning. This was a tough show. It was a 4 day show, but only from 5:30 - 8PM, so I was real slow all day with maybe one or two sales, then at 5:30 we were slammed.
Next weekends show is a Friday night - Saturday deal. We'll probably be slammed, but slammed all day long. That's good I guess.
