Discuss the various aspects of heat press technology. Transfer paper, inks, plastisol transfers, vinyl cutters, printers, commercial usage, durability, suppliers, etc.
What is suggested as a cost effective way to order limited editions of plastisol, hot peel or hot split heat transfers? (Whichever gives the softest hand.)
Limited editions would be 25-50 each of my own graphic designs, from 1-4 colors per design.
Would you suggest ganging and can different graphics with a different number of colors be ganged?
Also if you look at the top of the transfer section, Rodney did a really great diary of using all of the various plasitol transfers, a really great read.
Thanks for both of your replies! I have definitely looked at that thread cbs1963 which has captured my interest and has me asking questions.
I'm looking for advice from anyone who orders a small amount of transfers on a consistent basis to know what's cost effective.
I found the answer about ganging different graphics of different colors from one transfer company mentioned here. I'm not sure if all companies do this though. Ganging in itself seems a cost effective measure...

I asked this same question to one of the transfer companies. I was informed that different color graphics can be ganged, but I would be paying for the total number of colors on a gang sheet which may not be the most economical option for creating multi-graphics, multi-color heat transfers.
Sooo, I'd still like to hear how others using transfers keep costs low for your multi-color & multi-graphics orders. Ordering a single sheet graphic would use more paper than desired but perhaps that's the answer?
