Default inkjet transfer systems: Which one?

I'm about to go into business and I need an inkjet system to round out my shop. I have used an HP g85 fax/print/scanner for years to produce high quality prints (as high quality as one can hope for I think) for small jobs and Grandma shirts (no offense to grandmas).

My Questions: is there something else out there that can blow away this system? Are people using modified printers? Different ink systems? I'm using whatever ink system is made for the printer: HP tricolor print cartridge 78 &HP black 45.

So my fundemental question is: switch to something unfamiliar or go for ol' reliable.

thanks every body,

MJ Leper

I suspect there are much better printers to use...but you don't need to fix what is not broken!...if if works...stay with it. There are several ways to print inkjet transfers and other ways to use color lasers. Or...if you just want to test the waters..outsource some of what you are doing and compare

An inexpensive solution but a brand/printer a lot of people are using is the epson c88+

For around $79 or less (when on sale) this printer is great for transfers and uses pigment inks which are much better for transfers.

Plus if you plan to do a lot of transfers you can get the CIS bulk ink feeding system.

Keep your trusty HP fax/scan/print for your other traditional printing needs.

I got mine from Coastal Business. A CIS system (continuous ink system runs ink from bottles next to printer into a cartridge in the system. See my video on Youtube Just type badalou for all of the 21 that are there. look for the cis system. There is a tremendous saving on ink using this system.
