Ok guys,
Just to give you a bit of back ground in case ive not spoken to you vefore. Im starting making my own clothes and printing on them here in the UK. I've now researched the heat transfer option pretty well and am on the brink of buying a heat press and making an order with Xpres to get some papers winged my way.
However, i have recently done a few t shirts, washed a 30 degrees and they have cracked REALLY badly on the first wash! (I should point out i have been ironing them on so far NOT heat pressing and i used a very cheap paper from the local shop - i have not yet tried my Xpres papers) but before i go out and buy a press; my question is will it actually make that much difference?
So with this in mind i started looking into screen printing. i have some designs which are one or two colour that i think screen printing would be ideal for! But then i also have some very detailed drawings i reckon heat pressing would suit!
my main questions are
* whats the pros and cons of both?
* Do you make your own screens or buy from somewhere?
* Does anyone have a good "how to" on screen printing i could look over
*for heat transfer i know i need the paper, the press and the shirt but for screen printing what do i actually need to buy in/stock?
Im looking for a really flexible but natural printed shirt design! Like you would buy from any shop/retailer
Any help is massively appreciated
Alex
