Default If opaque HT's are vinyl...

If opaque HT's are vinyl, why do they feel so much heavier than thermoflex or spectra cut? They seem to be far inferior in quality than HT vinyl, even though technically they're in the same ball-park? I guess opaques are coated receptive vinyl? Anyone know?
