Default New to This Please Help

I am new to the world of making t-shirts. I have been cutting vinyl decals for over a year and also have been designing shirts but have recently purchased a heat press, some heat press material, and a epson r1800. I have a 24 inch vinyl cutter and tons of vinyl. I have done a couple white t shirt jobs but keep getting asked to do dark shirts. I am not able to find any useful information on how to do this. I have had some samples of the opaque material sent to me and I really don't like it. What do you all suggest? Also any ideas on thermoflock (I want the stuff thats not fuzzy.. whats that called and where do I buy it?)

Sorry. I can use vinyl but I know that it is specific type of vinyl and that is what I am trying to find out about. Also for more complicated or full color designs I dont know what to do.

yes there is apparel vinyl. the only difference is who you buy it from and what they produce. What are you calling full colors. Do you mean more then one color. That gets complicated and you need to learn to do the layers. based on the maker of the vinyl and the thickness of the vinyl itself. What specific type of vinyl are you looking for? Your question is vague.

I mean something that has 4-6 colors and gradients. I don't think they can be done with vinyl so I am wondering the best way of applying to a dark shirt with heat press also where is the best place to buy apparel vinyl

Hi Linda...
Specialty Materials makes Thermoflex heat transfer vinyl that can be cut for single or two color jobs. They also carry a vinyl that can be printed on then contour cut around the design, that could be applied to dark shirts. You can check at specialtymaterials.com for a local vender. Hope this helps.
