Default is it a heat press technique???

i'm needing some guidance & clarity on pressing t-shirts ..is it a technique or the type of transfer paper used 2 get the design to look like it's pressed into the t-shirt fabric..real smooth can't feel the difference from the design & the t-shirt..that's what i'm after...i want 2 produce shirt designs with that soft feel after being pressed..thanks for any input 2 point me in the right direction

Hi,, sounds like you are talking about sublimation,, special ink,, and you have to use polyester apparel,, also you are limited to light colors,, there are a lot of manufacturers out there now with different style shirts,, hope this helps.

Definitely sounds like dye sublimation - it gives soft ("no hand") permanent and breathable print.
This kind of printing is commonly used for all sorts of sporting applications like netball, cycling, tennis and so on.

Some polyester shirts you can get for this kind of printing are suitable for both casual wear and active lifestyle because they have less "sporty" cut, feel and look like cotton, but also wick moisture.

As Roger pointed out, you will be limited to light and pastel colours because the design is dyed into the fabric and there are no dyes (so far) that will colour dark background into a lighter colour.

thanks for responding guys...i just want 2 press shirts & have a smooth soft feel to it when it's done..i'm going with plastisol & or iron all heat transfers..i read that from the forum..(oh yeah!) i'm waiting for my 16 x 16 hotronix heat press..it will be the auto release. digital temp & pressure setting..i can't wait 2 get started..i'm going 2 call/email some company's for samples 2 get the ball rollin..i'm still researching for soft tee's?? still up in the air on which way 2 go on that part..but with u guys help from the forum i'll get there in no time...thanks sooooo much for the support
